Last year’s winner Doctor Phoenix is one of nine entries for the WhatOddsPaddy? Chase at Naas.

Gordon Elliott’s 11-year-old has been on an eight-race losing run since he took this Grade Three prize by 13 lengths from Alisier D’Irlande in 2018.

Elliott has also given this option to Ball D’Arc, Cubomania and Tycoon Prince — while the County Meath trainer’s great rival Willie Mullins has put in Rathvinden, Bellow Mome and Cadmium.

Henry de Bromhead’s Avenir D’Une Vie and the Pat Fahy-trained Castlegrace Paddy complete the list.

Elliott is responsible for five of the 13 possibles for the Grade Two Paddy Power Onside App Novice Hurdle. He has Chosen Mate, Eclair De Beaufeu, Milan Native, Run Wild Fred and Whoshotthesheriff.

Prince D’Aubrelle, who was well-beaten in a Listed race at Punchestown earlier this month on his first run for 276 days, is Mullins’ only entry.

Notebook, successful at Tramore on New Year’s Day, is an interesting contender from the De Bromhead yard. Others in the mix include Tom Mullins’ Chosen Maid, Jessica Harrington-trained Jetez and Gavin Cromwell’s Political Policy.
