Pincode overcame Three Colours Red to land the spoils in the Purcell Properties Rated Race over a mile and a half in Tramore.

Patrick Prendergast 's colt followed up on a victory in Bellewstown and was heavily backed to do so. He was all the rage in this six-runner contest as he shortened to 10/11 from 13/8 before racing and was then punted from 4/5 to 8/13 at the track.

Rory Cleary and Three Colours Red got a flier at the start and quickly moved into the lead with Pincode and Fran Berry in second.

Berry got busy on Pincode inside the three as he urged his mount to get closer to Three Colours Red. Pincode overhauled his rival with a furlong and a half to go. He was soon ridden to go on and win his race.

Three Colours Red (20/1) couldn't match him inside the final furlong and went down by a length and a half.

Fran Berry said: "He was entitled to win on his form. He made hard work of it but in fairness the second horse went off fast and handled the track better. He had me off the bridle a long way out but my lad's stamina kicked in in the end and he stayed going. He will be better on a better track."
