Pink In The Park (8/13, from 2/1 this morning) was a second odds-on favourite to oblige at Cork when making all in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Having her fifth start over hurdles, the six-year-old had been third in a Grade 1 at Fairyhouse over Easter and supporters had few worries despite some slightly untidy jumping in the home straight as she accounted for Roccos Inspiration by five and a half lengths.

Paul Townend, on board the winner for Wille Mullins, said: "she likes that nicer ground and was entitled to do that. She had experience and it was handy to go out and just keep it simple on her. She wasn't in love with the ground throughout the winter but likes the better ground.

"She was having a little look in front but I was in control of the race everywhere and was able to dictate away.

"It was probably surprising it took her so long to win her maiden but her result in Fairyhouse (finishing third at Grade 1 level) was good for breeding later on."
