Pique improving after colic attack Pique Sous is "improving all the time" after suffering a bout of colic but is far from being in the clear just yet. Willie Mullins' talented dual-purpose performer, a Grade Two winner over hurdles at Fairyhouse and winner of a premier handicap at Leopardstown on the Flat earlier this month, was struck down by the illness earlier in the week. Steve Massey, who helps run the Supreme Racing Club syndicate which owns Pique Sous, said: "He's not out of the woods yet but his condition is improving all the time. "The first few hours are usually the worst in situations like this so the longer it goes on, the better chance he has of pulling through. "I was gutted when I heard and suffered a sleepless night. "He was going to have a break. We were looking at either the Irish Cesarewitch or Cheltenham in November if the ground was decent and that would have been it for a few months. "I'm convinced we haven't seen the best of this horse yet so fingers crossed he makes a full recovery."
