Plasterer has King George target

Connections of Forpadydeplasterer are keen to try the Queen Mother Champion Chase runner-up over three miles in the King George VI Chase at Kempton.

The Boxing Day showpiece is likely to be the main first-half-of-the-season target for the eight-year-old, though trainer Tom Cooper has not ruled out another crack at Cheltenham's two-mile feature in March.

"One of the fastest times for the Champion Chase in 25 years was in 2010 which gives us lots of options," said Cooper.

"We are certainly going to try him over further, but I wouldn't rule out going back.

"He came back in training on the 12th of July. He had 12 weeks out and he won't run before November.

"He may have one run and then if the owners are anxious to give him a chance over three miles I suppose the ideal place would be Kempton."
