Point Of Law who emerged as a potential St Leger contender for the King and Queen with victory in the Bahrain Trophy, has been sold to continue his career in Australia.

Winner of a Newbury maiden in the spring, the John and Thady Gosden-trained Frankel colt then finished fourth in the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot before carrying the royal silks to Group Three success on the July course.

Royal Winner Sold To Maher

Point Of Law was a general 14-1 shot for the season’s final Classic at Doncaster on September 12, but speaking to The Straight in Australia, the King and Queen’s racing adviser John Warren confirmed he is to join trainer Ciaron Maher.

“I’m sure Their Majesties will derive great pleasure following Point of Law’s continued career in Australia,” he said.

“Like all owner-breeders the majority of their colts eventually do get sold on and the King and Queen will be wishing Ciaron Maher and the new owners the best of luck for an exciting future ahead.”
