Pontiac motors to Limerick success

Jessica Harrington, fresh from saddling Horner Woods to finish second in last week's RSA Chase at Cheltenham, saddled her Pontiac to win the opening Limerick GAA Supporters Maiden Hurdle at Limerick today.

Pontiac, a son of Ragmar, tracked the leaders before moving to lead before the second last flight, eventually staying on well under Robbie Power for a five lengths win.

Afterwards Harrington reported "Pontiac handled that heavy ground well enough and was entitled to win on his recent Leopardstown run."

He added "he is a chaser in the making and may have one more run in a three mile hurdle."
