Positivity pays off on Negativity

Lessofdnegativity produced a fine front-running performance to claim the second division of the three-mile handicap hurdle at Tipperary.

Darragh O'Keeffe jumped out in front on the Westerner gelding and he proved a willing partner when asked for an effort in the home straight.

There were plenty in with chances turning for home but 28/1 shot Lessofdnegativity picked up well when ridden after the second last.

Andrew McNamara senior's charge was a bit untidy at the final flight but was always holding the challenge of Wild Atlantic Lady in the closing stages to record a length-and-three-quarters win.

O'Keeffe revealed afterwards:- "To be honest that wasn't the plan - I was supposed to ride him mid-division but when Pat (Malone, starter) left the tape go nobody wanted to go on and I hacked away out in front and he jumped super.

"I was able to dictate it and he quickened up well in the straight so it's brilliant to get another winner for Andrew and I'm delighted. That's my third time winning on him and he has been a right little horse for connections."
