Power on course for l'Abbaye

Sole Power remains on course for the Qatar Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp on October 3rd as long as the ground is suitable.

The three-year-old was given a break following his 100-1 shock triumph in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York and is now being prepared for the big sprint in France.

"He's in great form, We're very pleased with him. He's come out of his race very well in York and. he'll go for the Abbaye, ground permitting," said trainer Edward Lynam.

"He had a bit of a break after York. He's done very well and is in great nick.

"We are looking forward to running him in France if we get the ground."

Lynam also reported his stable stalwart Duff to be in good shape after his valiant effort to land back-to-back victories in the Group Two Park Stakes at Doncaster on Saturday.

The seven-year-old finished a close fourth behind Balthazaar's Gift after trying to make all the running over the straight seven furlongs.

The Spinning World gelding will now either go for the Coolmore Stud Home Of Champions Concorde Stakes at Tipperary on October 3rd, which he won last year, or the Challenge Stakes at Newmarket 13 days later.

"He's come out of the race great. He nearly won it again," the County Meath trainer went on.

"Ground permitting he will go again to Tipperary or to the Challenge Stakes in Newmarket. It will be one or the other."
