Powersbomb Ready To Go After Wind Operation Brian McMahon is hopeful Powersbomb can get his career back on track at Leopardstown later this month. The seven-year-old ran a tremendous race to finish fourth at last season's Cheltenham Festival behind the Alan Fleming-trained Tully East and has been campaigned almost exclusively on the Flat since. He managed to win at maiden at Roscommon in July, but was well beaten in a couple of competitive handicaps at the Galway Festival. However, having had a wind operation in the meantime, McMahon is looking forward to see his charge return to fences at Leopardstown in a race in which he fell at the last when in front last season. "He is in good order. He had his wind done after Galway and he is back cantering away now. He should be ready to run at Leopardstown over Christmas, in the race he fell in last year," said the Strandhill-based trainer. "His long-term target would be the Grand Annual at Cheltenham, but that's a long way away yet. "At Cheltenham in March, the trip might have found him out a bit. He was a bit keen and didn't jump great, but still ran well. The race is probably working out well. "Two Taffs (who finished third) has probably gone up a stone since after winning at Ayr, while Gold Present, who was second, won at Newbury the other day. "I have about six or seven horses in for the season including Se Mo Laoch and Seskinane."
