Wingin A Prayer produced a fine front-running performance to land the two-mile-three handicap hurdle at Punchestown this afternoon.

There looked to be plenty lining up behind Jessica Harrington's charge two from home but he quickened up well before the last, under Sean O'Keeffe.

A fine leap there settled matters and the 3/1 shot went on to post a four-and-a-quarter length winning margin over Hurricane Darwin

Wingin A Prayer had run well on both previous handicap outings, most recently when fifth to the progressive King Alex at Fairyhouse.

O’Keeffe said:- “We didn’t go very quick and he relaxed lovely in front. His jumping was very good and I was able to build it up coming out of the back straight.

“He stays that trip really strong and he handled the ground. He’s progressing well.”
