Kevin Prendergast had his first winner of the season in the opener at Tramore and swiftly made it a double in race three when Butterfly Garden stayed on best in the 1m4f rated race.

Gary Halpin got a good tune out of the Awtaad filly in third in the final two furlongs. She improved to challenge Lamprog at the furlong pole and got her measure in the closing stages.

She hit the line half a length to the good to justify 13/8 favouritism from the 3/1 runner-up.

Halpin, who also secured a double, said: "It's good to get the double.

"The horses have been running well and hitting the crossbar, so it's good to get two winners and I was glad to be on them.

"She has been running consistently and it was good to get her to win today. She stayed the trip well."

Prendergast and Halpin teamed up with Alaroos in the opener.
