Prendergast satisfied with Dunboyne run Kevin Prendergast declared himself satisfied after Dunboyne Express ran a creditable fifth in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh on Sunday. The Shamardal colt was stepping up half a mile in distance having occupied the same position in the Irish 2,000 Guineas, but appeared to see it out well enough to pass the post five lengths behind the winner Treasure Beach. "I thought he ran a good race and I'm happy enough he got the trip OK," said Prendergast. "The ground was probably a shade fast for him on the day but he showed up well and finished off nicely, if not quite as fast as the first four. "I don't have any plans for him at the moment. We'll just see how he is, but there are plenty of options for him. "I don't know what trip he'll run over next time, but I wouldn't be worried about running over a mile and a half again."
