Proclamation Set For Ascot

Godolphin's Proclamation is the key name among the nine contenders who have stood their ground at the five-day declaration stage for the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot on Tuesday.

The ?boys in blue' have enjoyed tremendous success in the race in recent times, having won six of the last 10 renewals.

Proclamation, then trained by Jeremy Noseda, burst on the scene when landing last season's Jersey Stakes, before advertising his exceptional turn of foot with victory over Soviet Song in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

But the son of King's Best has yet to run for Sheikh Mohammed's outfit and will need to be at his best to defy a 290-day absence.

Sir Michael Stoute has kept Lockinge Stakes heroine Peeress and her stablemate Home Affairs engaged in the mile contest, but the handler has opted to take out Mostashaar, Notnowcato and Rob Roy.

Other notable absentees include Soviet Song and Iffraaj, who hold entries in the Windsor Forest Stakes and the Golden Jubilee Stakes respectively.

Queen Anne Stakes: Ad Valorem (Aidan O'Brien), Akimbo (James Leavy), Belenus (Saeed bin Suroor), Court Masterpiece (Ed Dunlop), Home Affairs (Sir Michael Stoute), Kandidate (Clive Brittain), Peeress (Sir Michael Stoute), Proclamation (Saeed bin Suroor), Vortex (Gay Kelleway).
