Profound ran out a game winner of the Bar One Handicap Hurdle at Navan for trainer John Morrison.

The Intello gelding had won over hurdles at Limerick back in July and was last seen finishing mid-division on the level at this track last month.

He was produced to challenge going to the second last today by Mike O'Connor and despite an untidy leap there soon travelled well in the lead.

The 10/1 shot found plenty when asked for an effort from the last flight and held the strong challenge of Pretty Little Liar by a neck.

The winning rider said afterwards:- “He did it fairly well, we kept things simple today.

“We were fairly hopeful coming into the race today and he came back to his Limerick form. He puts his head down and he battles away.

“He rallied the whole way to the line and as soon as the other horse got to his girth he picked up again and went away.”
