Prophets Voice (11/4) made all to win the seven-furlong maiden for three-year-olds and upwards.

Third over 1m1f at Gowran on Saturday, Joe Murphy's charge was fitted with blinkers for the first time and went clear over a furlong out to beat Fiddlers Green by three lengths. In behind, the 4/9 favourite Gambe Veloci met plenty of trouble in running despite the small field and finished a never-threatening third.

The winner was making the breakthrough on his twelfth appearance.

Winning rider Gary Carroll said: "He was very good today, is a big baby and would spot a spider on the gallops! He looks at everything so we put blinkers on him to sharpen him up and keep him concentrating, and it worked.

"It wasn't ideal to have raced on Saturday but this race came up and it looked a lovely opportunity and he too it. We thought he'd do something like that but didn't think we'd have to wait until now to do it.

"I think he wants further, he is a tall leggy horse and when he'll be fully mature next year he'll be fine going further. He is a very tall horse, is still 'on the leg' and will be a better four year old."
