Prove Yourself timed it well to pick up the Ladies Day August 16th Maiden Hurdle in Tramore.

He made headway for Donagh Meyler into fourth two out and came with a lovely challenge to lead just before the last.

Donagh Meyler guided him in by two and a-half lengths at 9/4 from runner-up Onyx Storm (33/1). Trooper Carlton completed the placings in third at 12/1.

Meyler said: “He came on from the run at Navan and Ross (O'Sullivan) was confident enough today. He did it well in end, jumped fluently, travelled well throughout and came home well.

"It was his first time over hurdles at Navan and he jumped and travelled well that day too. He probably just had a nice blow there.

"He is coming on the whole time and hopefully he can keep on improving.

"I didn’t know much about him coming here, I rode him a few times at home and it was obviously a step up from the last day. We thought he could definitely be competitive today.

“He’ll go on nicer ground as well and hopefully his owners will have a bit of fun over the summer with him.” Darkened was claimed by John McConnell for €6,000, while Gamigin was claimed by Gary McGill for €12,000. The winner, Must Meet Cecil was the subject of a friendly claim.
