Punchestown Officials Delighted

Officials at Punchestown have hailed this year's Festival as the most successful ever with record-breaking attendance and on-course betting figures.

More than 85,000 people attended the four-day fixture, up 9.8% compared with 2005, and betting turnover rose by over 15% to in excess 12million.

Punchestown general manager Dick O'Sullivan said: 'It is enormously gratifying that the high quality of the racing on the track has been matched by the performance of the racecourse off it.

'It is very important that as many people as possible are able to watch the Festival and I am extremely pleased that the publicity achieved through working closely with At The Races has paid such tangible dividends.'
