Punchestown attendance holds up

The crowd at this year's Punchestown Festival has held up well despite the absence of much of the British contingent and Saturday's attendance was 18,057 compared to last years figure of 17,754.

The total attendance for the week was 93,467 which is down just 1,642 from last year's figure.

The Tote aggregate for the final day of the Festival was once again up on the 2009 figure (boosted by betting into the pool from France) at 544,978 euro, an increase of nearly 10 per cent.

However the bookmakers turnover has been steadily down all week, and the final day was about 10 per cent lower than the corresponding day last year at 1,021,223 euro.
