Punchestown plan for One Track Mind Warren Greatrex wants to give progressive young staying hurdler One Track Mind his first taste of Grade One competition at Punchestown at the end of April. The six-year-old could be bound for the Ladbrokes World Series Hurdle after showing he could mix it with the best when running Reve De Sivola to three-quarters of a length in the Rendlesham Hurdle at Haydock last Saturday. One Track Mind is to miss Cheltenham as Greatrex feels it will give him time to strengthen up ahead of his big test in Ireland. "It was horrible ground at Haydock and I was really happy with the run. It is just frustrating when you get so close, but that's just me being ultra competitive," said the Lambourn trainer. "To go down by three-quarters of a length to horse of Reve De Sivola's stature was a hell of a good effort, especially when Richard Johnson is riding him as it adds to his armour, as it were. "He won't go to Cheltenham. We've got about nine weeks until Punchestown. I just think if we look after him he will be a bigger and stronger horse by then. "I think we will aim him for the big Grade One hurdle there. When you are taking on horses that might have been at both Cheltenham and Aintree in the meantime, he could have a chance of picking up a Grade One. "When he comes back next season he will go over fences and I really do think he can make it at the the highest level. "He is not the finished article and with another good summer on his back, the sky will be the limit."
