Punjabi set to go chasing Connections of Punjabi are looking forward to seeing him tackle fences during the forthcoming National Hunt campaign. Nicky Henderson's eight-year-old missed the whole of last season due to a setback. He won the Champion Hurdle of 2009 but could finish only ninth in defence of his crown a year later. "When you say he's the 2009 Champion Hurdle winner that is only two years ago. Time normally goes fast, but that seems ages ago," said Tony Stafford, owner Raymond Tooth's racing manager. "I think Nicky and Raymond are looking at novice chasing for him. It makes sense because you will not be running every time against potential champions. "Another one comes through every year over hurdles, not least from Nicky's stable, so do you want to be number three or four over hurdles, or do you want to see if you can adapt to the challenge against less talented horses over fences? "He's still not too old, so we'll have a try."
