Punters Taking Time To Support Cecil

Passage Of Time has been cut to 7-2 joint-favourite by Coral for the Breeders' Cup Filly And Mare Turf as Henry Cecil left for America in upbeat mood to oversee the final preparations of his big hope.

The rejuvenated Warren Place maestro has enjoyed a fine season, with the success of Light Shift in the Epsom Oaks being an emotional highlight.

Passage Of Time was sent off favourite for the fillies' Classic but disappointed after travelling well for a long way and has since been treated for her well-documented throat abscess.

She returned to action with a creditable third in the Prix Vermeille at Longchamp, form given a major boost by the winner Mrs Lindsay in the EP Taylor Stakes at the weekend.

Cecil told www.henrycecil.com: 'Passage Of Time has travelled well and arrived safely. She seems in very good form and hopefully will have a good chance.

'Monmouth Park is a sharp track and only just over seven furlongs round, so I'm pleased with her draw in four.

'She likes some give in the ground so I'm hoping that we have good ground for the race.'

The weather forecast suggests the ground will come in Passage Of Time's favour and she was the latest European contender for the meeting to take to the Monmouth Park course when she cantered anti-clockwise on the turf track under Shane Featherstonehaugh.

She has been very solid in the market and is just 7-2 in the opinion of the local morning line odds compiler, with only the unbeaten Nashoba's Key (3-1) shorter.
