Johnny Murtagh believes Purr Along may be forced to go to America in an attempt to secure an elusive top-level victory.

The four-year-old filly was a shade unfortunate at Leopardstown on Saturday when she was pinched for room in the Matron Stakes.

Purr Along finished strongly to get to within three and a quarter lengths of the winner Fiesolana, with Murtagh adamant she will eventually enjoy her moment in the spotlight.

The County Kildare handler said: "The winner went right and she went left.

"If it had opened up, Jamie (Spencer, jockey) said she'd have been bang there.

"That's racing - that's the way it is - and Leopardstown can be like that.

"It was just great to see her coming back to form.

"We're looking at a couple of fillies' races, but she may have to go to America now.

"I think she's a Group One filly."
