Purview dynamite upped in trip Purview absolutely routed a good field in the Listed Sherry FitzGerald Orby Stakes over a mile and a-half in the Curragh as he marked himself down as a horse to follow in his four-year-old campaign. The Kingman colt was up in trip on seasonal reappearance having signed off last year with a Listed success over an extended 10-furlongs at Cork in September. He travelled strongly for Colin Keane who switched him out for daylight racing to the final quarter of a-mile. He tanked into the lead a furlong and a-half down and moved clear entering the final furlong. The 4/1 shot ran right away from the field to win as he pleased by six lengths over 5/2 favourite Trustyourinstinct. Arouet (17/2) was another length and three-quarters away in third. Dermot Weld said: “It was an excellent performance, he’s a lovely colt. “He has matured and developed as I always thought he would. We’ve a lot to look forward to with him. “He’s always been operating at Group level and he was just a big, immature, horse last year. He’s just matured nicely over the winter. “This was his first time over a mile-and-a-half. I was always keen to try him over a mile-and-a-half. He settled beautifully, got a lovely ride from Colin, and you saw the rest. “It’s something that we will reflect upon, discuss it with Barry (Mahon) and with the owners and decide. “I think he’s a horse to look forward to. The ground is beautiful here at the Curragh today and that’s his ground. “It’s a long year and we’ll plan his races accordingly.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
