Trainer Jim Bolger expects Dawn Approach to be over his recent ailment "in about two weeks" before a tilt at the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot on Qipco Champions Day in October.

The impressive 2000 Guineas winner finished a lacklustre fifth in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville on Sunday but returned a dirty scope.

"His scope wasn't good and he's a bit under the weather, which has been well publicised, but he should be all right in about two weeks," Bolger said.

"We should have plenty of time to get him ready for October and the QEII is firmly on the agenda. If he meets Toronado (in the QEII) it can't be worse then 2-2, even if he loses!

"He won't run in the Irish Champion Stakes, that's for Trading Leather. He's very well after Ascot and runs at York next week [in the International] before coming back for Leopardstown. He's the best staying three-year-old around."
