QEII or Prix du Moulin next up for Glory Olympic Glory is likely to have another crack at Group One glory following his narrow defeat in France on Sunday. The Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot and the Prix du Moulin at Longchamp are to be considered for the Sheikh Joaan Al Thani-owned colt after Richard Hannon's charge got within a short head of Moonlight Cloud in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville. "The only way that Sunday could have been any better was if Olympic Glory had won, but he has run an absolute corker," the trainer's assistant Richard jnr told www.richardhannonracing.co.uk. "We were very patient with him after the French 2000 Guineas as he was not moving right when he came back. However, he is certainly right again now, and he is a very good horse. "I know that this was a hot renewal, but Olympic Glory worked so well with Havana Gold up at Everleigh last Sunday, with Frankie (Dettori) aboard, that we came here not confident but very hopeful of a big run. "Frankie gave him a lovely ride, but, unfortunately, he could not get a run when he wanted it. Dawn Approach died quicker than we had expected. which cost us a length as we had to come around him. "All in all, it was a fantastic run after such a long absence, especially when you consider the quality that Olympic Glory had behind him. Intello, the French Derby winner, was two lengths back in third, followed by a Queen Anne winner (Declaration of War), the Newmarket 2000 Guineas winner (Dawn Approach) and also a very good filly in Elusive Kate, who has already won the Falmouth and the Prix Rothschild. "It now looks as if Sheikh Joaan Al Thani has two very good horses, and we will now have to thumb through the programme book to keep Toronado and Olympic Glory apart. "It could be an exciting second half of the season for both horses, but maybe one could go for the QEII at Ascot and the other the Prix Moulin at Longchamp."
