Windsor Queen going up in trip, relished the ten furlongs of the Roscommon Handicap to triumph for Prunella Dobbs and Pat Smullen. Lady Giselle s withdrawal at the start reduced the field to four here and Smullen got his mount to the front two furlongs out from the front-running Janna's Jingle

Windsor Queen kept on well under pressure from over a furlong out to beat Frozen North by two lengths.

Mrs Dobbs said: "She's a lovely genuine filly and Pat said the ground was soft enough for her there.

"In time she'll make a dual purpose filly as she stays.

"She's owned by a neighbour of mine, Pat Gleeson, and he bought her as a foal."

Meanwhile Brendan Walsh said of his father John Joe's Lady Giselle: "They were tightening her girth and she just raised her head and hit Connor (King, her rider)."

King wasn't cleared to ride after the bang he sustained but he's okay since.

The Stewards interviewed S.B. Kelly, rider of Connacht Council (finished last of the four) concerning his use of the whip in latter stages of this race.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.

Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that S.B. Kelly was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with his arm above shoulder height and therefore suspended him for 1 raceday and referred him to R.A.C.E for one days tuition on the correct use of the whip.
