Queen rules in Limerick bumper Atomic Queen galloped on strongly in the closing stages to run out a stylish winner of the concluding mares bumper at Limerick this evening. The Peter Fahey-trained filly had been well beaten on her sole previous outing at Galway last September but the 12/1 shot (20/1 this morning) left that form well behind. Adam Ryan produced the daughter of Flemensfirth to lead early in the straight and she kicked on over a furlong from home to post a comprehensive three-and-three-quarter length success over Barra Rua. “We always thought she was a very nice filly but I never got a clear run with her,” said Fahey. “She was a little sore after her run in Galway last year, we gave her time and she came back and did it well today. "It mightn't have been the strongest of bumpers but she works fairly well at home and she has a lovely pedigree.  "Some of my horses weren't right last year and she was one of them, so hopefully now she can go on. Whether or not we go for another bumper or a maiden hurdle, I don't know yet." (Quotes by Tom Weekes)
