Quick turnaround a possible excuse for John Robbie Power feels the Leopardstown Chase possibly came too soon after the John Durkan for Sizing John. Numerous tests have been run on Jessica Harrington's Gold Cup winner since he disappointed over the Christmas period, but nothing has shown up. As his two races this season came just over two weeks apart, Power believes his lacklustre display may simply be due to the swift reappearance. "Nothing has shown up, he's come out of the race fine. He did pull up a little bit stiff and sore, but that's to be expected and he was fine in the next couple of days," Power told At The Races. "We probably just went back too soon after the John Durkan, it was just over a fortnight. "I know visually he was very impressive, but it was very heavy ground that day and it maybe took more out of him than we realised. "Djakadam disappointed too, and did the same the year before when he was an ordinary third at Leopardstown after winning the Durkan. Maybe the John Durkan and Leopardtown Chase are too close together for staying chasers."
