Quiet Reflection storms to Sprint Cup glory Quiet Reflection stormed to her second Group One success of the season in the 32Red Sprint Cup at Haydock. Karl Burke's star filly won the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and has been aimed at this prize since her third in the July Cup. With the Newmarket winner Limato ruled out on account of the rain-softened ground, Quiet Reflection was sent off the 7-2 favourite and travelled really strongly under regular pilot Dougie Costello. The response was immediate when Costello asked, with Quiet Reflection quickening to the front and racing away to cross the line a length and three-quarters ahead of the staying-on The Tin Man, with Suedois third. Costello said: "I've never ridden anything like it and probably never will again. She's push-button go. She won as she liked, she's the real deal. "She was fresh today and between the five and the three I was running away. I got there a little bit sooner than I'd liked." Henry Candy was left to rue his luck with the ground as persistent rain led to Limato's withdrawal. The four-year-old has a distinct preference for quick conditions and Candy hoped he had made the right call when declaring Limato on Thursday, at the same time as taking last year's winner Twilight Son out of the race. Speaking after the ground was officially changed to soft, Candy said: "He's been unlucky all his career with the ground. We'll see what happens (with the ground) at Chantilly for the Foret, but there is no pressure to run him again this year. He's a gelding, so he'll stay in training."
