RAMSDENS TARGET LINCOLN GLORY Lynda and Jack Ramsden are set to mark their return to training by having two runners this year`s Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster.Lynda Ramsden, who won the race in 1993 with High Premium, has entered last year`s winner John Ferneley and another ex-Paul Cole horse, the lightly-raced Mastermind. Both horses were bought by owner John Martin at Tattersalls last October and cost 130,000 guineas and 100,000 guineas respectively.Jack Ramsden, the trainer`s husband, said: 'The intention at this stage is to run both horses. We don`t know much about them _ they haven`t been back for long _ although Mastermind has been gelded.'We are always keen to win decent handicaps like the Lincoln, although both horses look to have a lot to do.'The pair are part of a bumper entry of 108 runners for the race, to be run on Saturday March 24, which could see last year`s placed horses renewing old rivalries. Runner-up King Priam may reoppose, as could fourth-placed Pantar.David Nicholls, another handicap specialist, has entered an eight-strong team, including one-time Classic hopefuls Desaru and Exeat. Other notable entries include the German Group Two winner Crimson Tide.Doncaster racecourse is also looking for a new sponsor for the race. Last year the Lincoln was backed by the Worthington Brewery, but they have yet to finalise a deal for this year`s contest.
