Racing and GAA join Forces for Charity The fifth renewal of the 'Hurling for cancer research' takes place in St. Conleth's Park in the centre of Newbridge Town in Kildare this Tuesday evening with the throw in set for 6.30pm. The event has raised €400,000 for cancer research since its inception and is a credit to all the stars of both Horse racing and GAA who put a great deal of their time and effort into making this a wonderful evening of entertainment for all the family. Team captain Davy Russell is a doubtful starter following a nasty incident at Kilbeggan on Saturday evening when he lacerated his right foot during a race. The former Champion Jockey is an accomplished hurler and could be a big loss to his side in the annual tussle with trainer Jim Bolger's Stars. Bolger's team is littered with legends of Hurling both past and present and has the potential to give the Jockey's team a torrid time. With Brian Cody and Liam Griffin acting as Bainisteoirí the players won't lack for motivation and it should be another cracking contest. Tickets are priced at €10 for an adult but an entire family can come along for just €15.
