Rain shines in mares maiden The Gavin Cromwell-trained Saveforarainyday opened her account in impressive fashion when taking the mares' maiden hurdle at Limerick. Mark Walsh led early on the even-money shot before Jumbos Jet took over at the last with a circuit to run. The JP McManus-owned mare reclaimed the lead going to the second-last and soon put the race to bed. Walsh was clear before the final flight and his mount cruised home on the run-in for an 18-length success. Leopardstown Lessons Learned Cromwell’s race planner Troy Cullen said "She had been a bit keen and in Leopardstown the last day she didn't fully get home, but she relaxed there and they went good and slow. “She relaxed, finished it out and had the form to win. She did it handy enough. "Hopefully she will progress from here and there are plenty of mares' races for her." (Quotes by Tom Weekes)
