Rajala (13/2) scored on her second start today, landing Down Royal’s BoyleSports Pick Your Place Fillies Maiden for trainer Dermot Weld, jockey Chris Hayes and owners Jastar Capital Limited.

Out of 2017 Italian 1,000 Guineas (a Group 3) winner Mi Raccomando, Rajala raced with the pace, led a furlong-and-a-half out and held on to score by a neck from Lil’ Angel .

Hayes reported "she's genuine and had a very nice run at the Curragh when she was just ready to start. We knew she wanted this trip and probably another furlong, but that debut was a nice starting point. She has come forward since and faster ground suited.

"The boss gave me no instructions, I'd have happily made it but Billy (Lee, leader on Naoi went across and had a bit more experience. I got a lovely run around, kicked on good and early as I didn't think we went that quick and you'd be very happy with her and it wasn't a surprise she won.

"She's after taking a nice step forward from her first to second runs and she's very, very genuine which is a good attribute to have."
