Rambler ready for hurdling debut Cheltenham bumper winner The Mourne Rambler is set to make his hurdling debut in the coming weeks. Noel Meade’s charge was last seen finishing second in the Grade 1 bumper at Punchestown. The Well Chosen gelding has jumping experience, having finished second in a point-to-point, and is already prominent in the betting for the novice hurdles at Cheltenham next spring. “He's not going to the north (Down Royal), so he will probably go to Naas or here (Navan) for a maiden hurdle at the racing festival,” said Meade yesterday. "I'm very happy with him, he is working well and schooling well."
