The nine-year-old’s previous success came in a Clonmel claimer in October 2024 and, despite lacking race-fitness, he was well supported and produced to lead after the last when beating Coppola by 7.5 lengths. Trainer Smith stated “Cozone hadn't run in a year and had kind of lost his form. He's hit and miss, but had a good break and was in good form lately. We knew he was fit, he ran in a schooling race there recently and went well.
