Rebel Wave Gets Up Late Again The Willie McCreery-trained Rebel Wave (9/4) was the winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies' Handicap for jockey Billy Lee. The daughter of New Bay was impressive when victorious on her last start in the Curragh, where she showed a good turn of foot in the late stages, and it was almost a replica of that performance as she managed to pick up the Michael Butler-trained Rion Rubette in the final half-furlong to win by a neck and finish with a flourish. The daughter of New Bay looks to have an exciting profile going forward, and speaking after the race, trainer Willie McCreery said: "She's a lovely filly. She stepped up again and she's doing it all nicely. She's doing everything right. She's a nice filly going the right way and strengthening up the whole time. She's in the Fairy Bridge over seven furlongs, but Billy's adamant she wants a mile. She has a lovely pedigree, so we'll try and get a bit of black type with her.
