Rebelline lands G2 Hunston Financial Pretty PollyStakes

Kevin Prendergast's filly Rebelline bounced back from her disappointing effort in the Irish 1,000 Guineas last month to land the featured Group 2 Hunston Financial Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday afternoon.

Supported at 9/2 before racing and from 3/1 to 2/1 favourite on course, the daughter of Robellino, owned by Chryss O'Reilly, swept to the front approaching the furlong pole before she stayed on gamely under Declan McDonogh to land the spoils by two lengths from Molomo with Golden Apples a further head adrift in third.

'She was heavily in season before her run in the Irish 1,000 Guineas (5th) but in contrast she was bang on today. She was working well, the ground was right (good-yielding) and everything went right throughout the race,' said a delighted Curragh trainer Kevin Prendergast.

On future plans, the veteran handler added, ' She will head for the Irish Oaks next. I think she will get the trip. This filly has been right from day one and I'd be hopeful in the Oaks next month.' BF
