Recent Curragh winner Lord strikes again Amy Ryan enjoyed a dream first ride for Mark Johnston as she held on in a driving finish aboard recent Curragh winner Sea Lord in the 32red Casino Handicap at Newmarket. The daughter of trainer Kevin Ryan picked up the mount on the advice of Johnston's son, Charlie, and her valuable 5lb claim undoubtedly made a difference with the 13-2 chance scoring by just a neck. Ryan set out to make all aboard the colt and despite being challenged on all sides in the closing stages he was able to thwart the challenges of First Cat and Dance East. Johnston said: "I can't remember Amy riding for us before and booking her was only a last minute decision. "I rang my son who is in South Africa and asked him who the best apprentice who could claim 5lb is and he recommended Amy. "This horse is climbing the ratings and we may have to look at a Group race next."
