Reckless Abandon heads to stud Reckless Abandon has run his last race after being retired to stand at Darley's Kildangan Stud in 2014. Clive Cox's star was Champion two-year-old and Europe's highest rated three-year-old sprinter of 2013. An undefeated champion at two, Reckless Abandon won all five of his juvenile starts including the G2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, the G2 Robert Papin, the G1 Prix Morny and the G1 Middle Park Stakes - a run of victories no horse has ever won before. He won the Robert Papin in the fastest time recorded by a colt since Blushing Groom back in 1976. Never beaten by a horse from his own generation, Reckless Abandon went on to be the first three-year-old home in the G1 Abbaye, G1 King's Stand and the G2 Temple Stakes, races in which he finished in front of five older G1 winning sprinters, including both Sole Power and Kingsgate Native twice each. A grandson of Danzig and from the immediate family of the all-time great sire Storm Cat and Royal Academy, he retires as the highest-rated three-year-old sprinter in Europe.
