Red Evolution takes Premier Handicap for Holohan The Michael O’Callaghan-trained Red Evolution (10/3f) got up late on for rider Reese Holohan in the Joe McGrath Premier Handicap at the Curragh. The son of Mehmas has been in good form this season and was second to Coul Angel on his last visit to the track. Under a patient ride from Holohan, he managed to find the gap when it mattered to get up the inside of the Fozzy Stack-trained Cardiff By The Sea to win by half a length. Speaking after the race, Holohan said: “I was delighted to have that draw and the plan was to go straight up there as it seems like the ground is a bit better over there. “I thought Julian’s horse might have drifted over to the rail and kept there. When I got the run I couldn’t believe it. “He’s hit the line good and strong and he’s won nicely at the end. “Michael said that he had come out of his last race well and that he was in good form. He ran a cracker the last day and I came here with good hopes for him today. “I actually can’t believe how well things are going at the minute. “That was actually my 30th winner so the 7lb is gone now.
