Red gets off the mark in style Enter The Red opened his account at the 18th attempt when taking the five-furlong Firville Handicap in fine style. Leigh Roche’s mount appreciated the step back to the minimum trip, showing a decisive turn of foot a furlong out to settle the issue. The 7/1 chance struck the front just under two furlongs out, and stretched clear on the far side to eventually win eased down by a length. Future Earner (33/1) kept on nicely in the closing stages to take the runner-up spot, with Cobblers Cove (12/1) a further length and a half back in third.
