Gavin Cromwell 's Reponse Finale put the seal on a busy week by coming through to win in Dundalk.

She struck in Gowran Park on Wednesday, on stable debut for Cromwell, and then flew home for second at Cork last night after a very tardy start.

Again, she was slow away from the gates but Robert Whearty weaved his way through and she was strong at the finish in obliging by three-parts of a length to justify 6/4 favouritism. Roman Harry finished second at 20/1 and was a length and three-quarters up on Movin And Groovin (10/1)

Robert Whearty said: "It is frustrating (runner-up in Cork last night after being very slowly away). We missed it (break) a little bit the first day, but I was actually able to get into a grand position.

"Last night we tried something different, tried to put a blind on her, and it just didn't suit.

"Kind of more or less the same thing (today) and I just had to take the medicine and ride for a bit of luck. Thankfully, it worked out.

"I was (half-expecting her to miss the kick), she probably has a bit of a habit now at this stage, I'd say. Once I got her into some sort of rhythm, all I wanted to do was keep it smooth.

"Hopefully she will be able to (cope with the higher marks), and improve. She's had a tough week, so I imagine she will get a little break now."
