Ribbons could be Curragh bound The Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh is among the options under consideration for Ribbons following her encouraging return at York earlier this month. The daughter of Manduro claimed Group One honours for James Fanshawe and the Elite Racing Club in last season's Prix Jean Romanet at Deauville and very nearly struck again at the highest level when narrowly denied by We Are in the Prix de l'Opera at Longchamp on Arc day. She ran with plenty of credit when third behind Secret Gesture on her seasonal bow in the Middleton Stakes on the Knavesmire earlier this month, but plans for the summer are likely to be dictated by ground conditions. Dan Downie, racing manager for owners the Elite Racing Club, said: "She's in good form and came out of York well. "She had a good blow afterwards and we're expecting her to improve significantly for the run. "We've taken her out of the Prince of Wales's Stakes as it's highly unlikely she'd get her ground at Ascot. "We've left her in the Pretty Polly at the Curragh, so we'll just wait and see what happens. It would be nice to go somewhere with a bit of cut in the ground. "She seems as good as ever, so hopefully she can continue on an upward curve. "All options are open for her, but the ground is important and we are probably resigned to going to France and elsewhere with her, but you never know what can happen with the weather. "We're not going to run her for the sake of it on ground she doesn't like."
