Ribee forges home well for Carroll First-reserve Ribee finished off best of all under Gary Carroll to claim the Dine At Gowran Park Handicap over seven furlongs. The always-prominent Men Of Honour was in front in the final quarter of a mile and made a bold bid to see off all comers. He kept finding for Sam Coen, but his exertions told deep inside the final when he was swamped by the closers and nothing came home stronger than Ribee who got up by half a length at (5/1). No Such Thing (8/1) filled the runner-up berth and was a head in front of Bundle Of Interest (13/2). Mick Mulvany said: “I was giving out about the handicapper for giving an extra 3lb for the last day, but it’s hard to say anything when he wins. His form has been working out well. "He’s a fine, big horse and he had ideal conditions. He’ll probably make a lovely jumper because I’d say he’ll go a bit further. “He might run again in Galway over a mile at the weekend. He’s by Ribchester and they all seem to like that ground.” Ribee doubled his career total having also scored at Bellewstown on his penultimate outing. Additional reporting by Alan Magee
