Rimell Keeps Close Eye On Oneway

Mark Rimell will run another series of tests on Oneway before letting him take his chance in the Victor Chandler Chase at Cheltenham.

Rimell´s charge, who finished third in the William Hill - Tingle Creek on his penultimate start, underwent blood tests after his below-par effort in the Castleford Chase, where he finished a distance in arrears of impressive winner Mister McGoldrick at Wetherby last month.

Oneway has since been given the all-clear, but his trainer believes the Oxon yard´s current dip in form could have been responsible for his bad display last time out.

'There is nothing blatantly obvious to have come out of his last run, but the yard has been under a bit of a cloud at the moment and that may be a factor,' he said.

'I´ll pick his work up again in the lead-up to the Victor Chandler with the aim of running him in the race.

'But I will do some tests on him before he is a confirmed runner - I won´t run him unless I´m absolutely happy with him.'

Oneway, who defeated Impek by one and a half lengths at Sandown last February, is currently a 12-1 shot with the sponsors to win the Victor Chandler on January 28.
