Everybreathyoutake (11/2 into 9/2) upstaged market principals Poker D’ainay and Monition to take the Killultagh Estates Maiden Hurdle at Downpatrick.
Gordon Elliott trains Everybreathyoutake and he was also responsible for third home Monition.
The successful September Storm gelding, owned by Pioneer Racing, benefitted from a lovely patient ride by Andrew Ring to eventually leave in his wake Poker D’ainay to the tune of twelve lengths.
Davy Russell was booked for the spin on Everybreathyoutake but he was stood down after a fall here yesterday.
A point-to-point winner in his time for Jerry Cosgrave, Everybreathyoutake's performance here prompted stable representative Ian Amond to say: "He probably wants that trip I suppose or even a bit further, he stays going very well.
"It's nice for that syndicate, they have a couple of horses in the yard and they are doing their best to get going and it's nice for them to get a winner - they might get a few more members in.
"It's important for them to get going and it's good for them to have a winner and the same likewise for Andrew. He is in the yard a couple a days a week. It's only a spare but it's a nice spare for him to get. Those lads work hard, they are in every day in the winter.
"You could call him the winner from two or three out so he did it well. I'd imagine he would be kept going."
The Stewards enquired into an incident after jumping the second hurdle involving Benefit Run ridden by L.P. Dempsey, Danjaman ridden by Sarah Kavanagh, Poker D'ainay (FR), ridden by P. Townend and Shantou City ridden by D.E. Mullins, where it appeared that Danjaman ran short of room on the rails and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D.E. Mullins was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard suspended him for 2 racedays.
