Rising Sky (13/2) gave trainer Anthony McCann two winners in as many days today, landing Dundalk’s concluding Next Friday Fixture At Dundalk 10th April Handicap for owners Glenhoy and jockey Patrick McGettigan.

The four-year-old filly had previously been placed just once from 13 starts and today competed from a career-low mark of 56, when scoring by 2.75 lengths from Storm Eric .

McCann, successful with supported Silent Guardian at Clonmel yesterday, today swapped cheekpieces for both blinkers and a first-time tongue-tie and explained “Rising Sky has plenty of headgear on as when I only saw only nine runners, I said I’d throw the kitchen sink at her.

"Patrick’s 7lb claim was massive as well and thanks to Luke McAteer (jockey) who recommended him. We have some very good riders here and it is just a pity I haven't more horses to try to give them all rides.

"It is brilliant for the owners as she always had a hard luck story and a big thanks to the lads in the yard, as that's three winners in ten days.”
