Rizeena continues to please connections Rizeena had her trainer Clive Brittain purring with enthusiasm after she turned in an electric workout on the Newmarket gallops as part of her preparation for the Qipco 1000 Guineas. The ante-post favourite for the fillies' Classic delighted all onlookers as pilot Ryan Moore partnered her over a mile on the Al Bahathri Polytrack on Tuesday morning, accompanied by her regular work companion, Afkar. Brittain is likely to give Rizeena one more serious piece of work ahead of her day with destiny over the Rowley Mile at Newmarket on Sunday week. "She did some nice work over a mile up the Al Bahathri. We were very pleased with the way she worked and the way she came out of the work," said Brittain, who has won the 1000 Guineas twice, with Pebbles in 1984 and Sayyedati in 1993. "Ryan was as happy riding her, as much as we all were watching her. "She will probably have one work on grass before she gets within six kilos of her racing weight and she's getting close to that. It just depends on what the ground is like. "She's an easy filly to do. She goes out at five o'clock in the morning and never gets herself over-excited. She certainly fills your eye and is putting condition on, not fat. She's just where we want her." Among the work-watchers was former jockey Bruce Raymond, racing manager to owner Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum. He too was thrilled with the exercise. "She worked very well and we were very pleased with her. She always does because she is the best in the stable," said Raymond. "She just cruised up to him on the bridle. It was good work and she's on song for the Guineas."
