Rochestown struck for the second time this year at Tramore when landing the HW Fasteners Handicap Chase this afternoon.

The Brendan Walsh-trained gelding had won at the track on New Year's Day and was on the mark again having been placed twice since.

Darragh O'Keeffe produced his mount to lead narrowly over the second last in the two-mile-five contest and he stuck on well in the closing stages to post a two-length success.

Walsh said of the 10/3 favourite:- "We were just a little bit worried about the ground as it is drying out. That'll be it for him now, he is after winning two and has been placed a few times.

“He has been consistent and Darragh gave him a great ride. He ran great (when second) over hurdles the last day at Mallow, he was just beaten by a better horse on the day.

“He has done enough for the season now and we'll let him out in the field. We just got away with the ground today, he'd prefer the softer ground."
